I do know what you mean..I have been very attached to my home..never thought I would want to leave but now we are craving a change and think it will be good for us and the kids. I too secretly fantasize a home with grandkids running around. In fact I keep telling my husband that we need to move somewhere fun that will lure them to visit :)Amy Ruhlinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05677484684095704943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2747442236094747505.post-39160255507553373362012-09-18T13:09:15.505-07:002012-09-18T13:09:15.505-07:00I'm so glad to here that..hope I am fortunate ...I'm so glad to here that..hope I am fortunate enough to have grandchildren's laughter and clutter too :)Amy Ruhlinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05677484684095704943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2747442236094747505.post-40416052666502548042012-09-18T12:59:15.924-07:002012-09-18T12:59:15.924-07:00Lovely post. My husband has spoken of downsizing a few times, but at this point I can't imagine leaving our home, and honestly the thought of downsizing makes me feel old. I have so many happy memories here and I want the kids to have everything as it were when they come home from college to visit. Secretly, I have fantasies of seeing my future grandchildren running around here too.Carpool Goddesshttp://www.carpoolgoddess.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2747442236094747505.post-73547060509317008822012-09-17T00:15:19.309-07:002012-09-17T00:15:19.309-07:00This is a beautiful post. So many times we have considered moving but always stayed for them..their schools, their friends, etc.So I guess we do feel that now it is our turn..though we are discussing moving somewhere that will lure them to want to come see the ol folks:)..on our nearby lake, for example, where we spent a lot of time as a family. Have also told them that there will always be a room for them(to VISIT) no matter where we go. I think/hope they will be excited for us but I know it will be bittersweet for all of us to leave this house. I found midlife to be a very strange time..am hoping empty nest will be less so but have my doubts :) Amy Ruhlinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05677484684095704943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2747442236094747505.post-88742092033112783162012-09-16T12:34:24.519-07:002012-09-16T12:34:24.519-07:00I'm curious about your decision to move, and w...I'm curious about your decision to move, and what your children will think of it - if that's even a consideration for you.

Empty Nest is a strange time. Stranger still, in my opinion, for those of us who have done it on our own. Yet it's freeing as well, at least... somewhat.

Surely that stack of "acceptances" will help!

:)BigLittleWolfhttp://dailyplateofcrazy.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2747442236094747505.post-76089712524785207262012-09-16T12:31:56.420-07:002012-09-16T12:31:56.420-07:00Nice.....Nice.....Jane Gassnerhttp://midlifebloggers.comnoreply@blogger.com
